L∆BEL.W∆TCH * UP and COMIN' /// Sadak

Sadak is a really young Berlin-based Label, owned by Sasa who studied at Kunsthochschule-Berlin and graduated in 2010. The whole concept of the in Germany produced brand is based on tradition, ethnography, anthropology, history, and clothing. Sadak is the ancient name for a traditional sleeveless jacket worn in some regions of the Balkans. The preserved magical meaning of sadak in its original oral and visual context is transformed and adapted to contemporary reality, becoming independent through the construction of forms, figures, motifs, magical objects, statements, temporal codes of society, space, objects and functions of protagonists.

As I already loved his current summer collection "I'm a good socialist" I couldn't wait to see his next clue. And as if his independent forms and codes might not already be convincing enough but rather everything you can expect from a good collection, he furthermore came up with this amazing editorial shot by Daniel Bolliger-Samo - mainly silk and leather presented by bearded & tattooed men. Gosh, how am I supposed to sleep tonight...?

SADAK's "APOCALYPSE" SS 2012 collection is a dream in silks, cottons and leather. With roots in Kovacevic’s Serbian heritage, Apokalypsis represents the thematic intersection of apocalypse and rapture. The collection imparts tranquility and spiritual joy and is a surreal evokation of salvation and transcendence, a bold juxtaposition of age-old belief systems and post-modern science fiction.
