Claudio Parentela is what you might call a multi-talented genius. He is not only an illustrator and painter but also a photographer, mail artist, cartoonist, collagist and freelance journalist... Born in Catanzaro/ Italy, where he lives and works, he's been active since many years in the international contemporary art scene taking up the cause of all kind of collaborations - ranging from co-ops with magazines of contemporary art, bands of mainly industrial music, noise, experimental & electronic punkcore and diverse comic- and story illustration. No wonder he seems omnipresent wherever you watch out for him.I simply adore his innocent, naive, reassembled fashion-illustrations reminding me of schoolbook collages picturing gigantic fractals and holograms of his mind or even DIY zines in a very sophistcated and senseful way. Details enhanced by chaos, stylistic devices better known from cubism and impressionism, adapting elements of dada and pop art. Claudio clarifies a process of constant remixing: the natural evolution of reality that surrounds and determines us. Here’s a series of my favourite collages by underground artist Claudio Parentela, to see more click here.
How do you like them? Stay beautiful, Stephka
