Ich weiß, ich weiß - viele können ihn nicht mehr sehen, zumindest diejenigen, die ihm eigentlich wohlgesonnen sind. Der andere Teil hatte noch nie viel für seine Bilder übrig, die auf den ersten Blick auch wirklich nicht mehr leisten, als sein dreckiges Hipsterleben zu dokumentieren. Meinetwegen! Und doch, ich bleibe irgendwie immer wieder auf seinem Blog hängen und gestehe: seine leichtbekleideten, scheinbar schamlosen Mädchen und sein ach so dreckiges Leben inspirieren mich. Zumindest nimmt es mich mit in eine Welt, in der ich selber viel öfter mitmischen wollte und die mich veranlasst, mich Nachts in meiner Wohnung mit einer Flasche Rotwein zu verschanzen und zu schreiben - über das ach so dreckige Leben dieser Welt versteht sich!
Jetzt hat der in East London beheimatete Modefotograf Viktor Vauthier allerdings ein Projekt realisiert, das so gar nicht in dieses Schema passt. These Are The Days, The Time Is Now heisst die Fotostrecke in ungewöhnlich beschaulichem Ambiente und ist in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Modeversandhaus Urban Outfitters entstanden.
Die wirklich gelungenen Bilder wurden in Epping Forrest fotografiert, einer Gegend in Süd-Ost England, in der es vor idyllischen alten Waldlandschaften nur so wimmelt. Vauthier schoss sie mit einem 35mm Film und erklärt im Interview mit Urban Outfitters seine Inspiration seien vor allem Freundschaft und Zusammenhalt gewesen und dem echten Leben entlehnt. Na, zumindest dieser Aspekt ist nicht so fern von seinen sonstigen Arbeiten.

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with artificial images, Viktor Vauthier's photography is a real breath of fresh air. I know that not everyone feels that way but I am so obsessed with his work, always have been and always will be. He is one of the most inspiring fashion photographers and I simply love his unconventional and casual way of documentation.
His work for Urbanoutfitters called "These are the days, the time is now" is all about leaving the city life and urbanity, taking some time off, hiding in the woods - with some friends, nature and music! And guess what - I think open-air tracks covered by leaves and surrounded by trees are the better catwalks anyway.

Though I love these pictures, I am seriously surprised that the girls are completely dressed this time! Usually his blog is more about photos of random hot girls, who barely wear anything at all, and partying pictures and look rather like that:
